Mumbai’s Legal Titans Set to Gather for Arbitration Summit on September 21

A landmark arbitration conference is set to take place in Mumbai on September 21, 2024, bringing together some of the top legal minds in India. Hosted by the Arbitration Bar of India in collaboration with the Bombay Bar Association, the event will explore “Judicial Support and the Role of Courts in Arbitration.”

Held at YB Chavan Auditorium from 9 AM to 2 PM, followed by a luncheon, the conference will feature a stellar lineup of speakers including Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay of the Bombay High Court, Attorney General R Venkataramani, and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, alongside a host of senior advocates and judges.

The inaugural session will kick off with insights from Vice President of the Arbitration Bar India, Vyapak Desai, and several other high-ranking legal professionals. Advocate Farhan Dubash will wrap up the session with closing remarks.

Following this, a session on “Effective Strategies for Arbitration Advocacy” will be launched by Justice AS Chandurkar of the Bombay High Court, featuring a panel of esteemed judges and senior advocates, including Justice Bharati Dangre and Darius Khambata. This discussion, moderated by Raj Panchmatia of the Arbitration Bar India, promises to offer critical insights into the evolving landscape of arbitration.

The second panel, focusing on “The Role of the Arbitration Bar in Modern Arbitration,” will be headlined by Justice GS Kulkarni. Moderated by Naresh Thacker, the session will feature prominent figures like Janak Dwarkadas and Madhavi Diwan, offering a deep dive into the current challenges and opportunities in arbitration.

The event invites advocates, arbitrators, and in-house counsel to register and participate in what promises to be a significant discussion on the future of arbitration in India.
