Judicial Appointments: Supreme Court Collegium Recommends New Judges for Bombay, Patna, and Madras High Courts

The Supreme Court Collegium, led by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, has put forward a series of judicial appointments across multiple high courts, reinforcing the judiciary with fresh appointments and an extended term.

Bombay High Court

The Collegium has recommended three judges for permanent positions:

  • Justice Shailesh Pramod Brahme
  • Justice Firdosh Phiroze Pooniwalla
  • Justice Jitendra Shantilal Jain

Additionally, Justice Manjusha Ajay Deshpande has been recommended for a one-year extension as an Additional Judge.

Patna High Court

Five advocates have been nominated for elevation to the bench:

  • Alok Kumar Sinha
  • Ritesh Kumar
  • Soni Shrivastava
  • Sourendra Pandey
  • Ansul @ Anshul Raj

Madras High Court

The Collegium has also put forth four names for permanent judgeship:

  • Justice Ramasamy Sakthivel
  • Justice P. Dhanabal
  • Justice Chinnasamy Kumarappan
  • Justice Kandasamy Rajasekar
