The Delhi High Court has approved the designation of 85 advocates as Senior Advocates, following a decision taken during a Full Court meeting held on Thursday evening.
The names were considered after an extensive evaluation carried out by the Committee for Designation of Senior Advocates, which examined 231 applications before forwarding its recommendations to the Full Court for a final decision.
The designation committee was headed by Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and included Justices V. Kameswar Rao and Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, Delhi High Court Bar Association President N. Hariharan, Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma, and Senior Advocate Sanjay Jain.
According to information available, 86 candidates met the prescribed eligibility criteria during the assessment process. Of these, the Full Court granted Senior Advocate designation to 85 lawyers.
Among those approved for the prestigious designation are 11 women advocates.
The complete list of the newly designated Senior Advocates has also been released.
