Back to the Boardroom: Shalini Saxena Returns to Pine Labs as General Counsel Amid IPO Push

Shalini Saxena is back where it all began—or at least where it got serious. The seasoned legal strategist is stepping back into the General Counsel role at Pine Labs, just as the fintech giant revs up for its highly anticipated IPO.

Saxena, who previously held the post from 2019 to 2022, rejoins at a pivotal moment. Pine Labs has recently filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI, signaling its intent to go public. For Saxena, it’s more than a reunion—it’s unfinished business.

“It’s a privilege to return and help complete the journey we set in motion years ago,” she shared, confirming her return.

A Delhi University graduate with both LL.B. and LL.M. degrees in hand, Saxena brings a 25-year legacy across litigation, corporate law, fintech, and M&A. Before her first stint with Pine Labs, she was a Partner at a Delhi-based firm representing various government entities. Since then, she has done the rounds across sectors—consumer finance, power, and tech—with stints including Head of Legal at CoinDCX and consulting roles with Trinity Indo-Pacific Partners, Nuvei, and Rio.

She’s also the co-founder of The CADRE, an online dispute resolution venture—a reflection of her constant eye on the evolving legal-tech intersection.

For Pine Labs, her return is more than symbolic. It marks the reassembly of a trusted core team just as the company steps onto the public stage.
