In a recent development, the Delhi High Court has overturned an interim order requiring journalist Abhishek Baxi and other social media platforms to delete tweets related to Rohan Dua’s interview with Manu Bhaker. The controversy began when Dua’s remarks about Bhaker, calling her one of the “most attractive females in India’s Olympic history,” sparked backlash.
Dua argued that Baxi’s tweet was defamatory and damaging to both him and Bhaker. However, the court, led by Judge Navin Chawla, has now vacated the previous order. Baxi responded on X (formerly Twitter), asserting that his tweet was a protected expression of free speech and criticized the injunction as based on misleading claims.
