From Central India to the Coast: Justice Dharmadhikari Set for New Chapter in Kerala

After three rounds of deliberation behind the closed doors of the Supreme Court Collegium—on March 20, March 24, and April 3—Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari is set to trade the benches of Madhya Pradesh for the palm-lined corridors of the Kerala High Court.

Born in Raipur in 1966, Justice Dharmadhikari’s legal roots go deep into the soil of Madhya Pradesh, where he began his practice in 1992. For over two decades, he built a reputation across civil, criminal, and constitutional cases, while also standing as counsel for heavyweights like the Union of India, the RBI, and the Income Tax Department.

His judicial journey formally began in 2016 when he was appointed as an additional judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, becoming a permanent fixture by 2018.

Now, as Kerala’s High Court operates three judges short of its sanctioned strength of 47, the transfer injects fresh judicial firepower into the southern bench—bringing with it decades of courtroom battle scars and institutional experience from the heartland.
