In a courtroom moment that sparked raised eyebrows and scrambled video edits, the Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court let his frustration off the leash during a public hearing—uncensored and live.
The scene unfolded on May 7, with Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Arvind K Verma presiding over a Public Interest Litigation that’s been collecting dust since 2017. The petition calls for a fully functional domestic airport in Bilaspur, a demand that’s long been flying in circles through bureaucratic turbulence.
As State representatives suggested yet another feasibility report, the Chief Justice lost patience. Hitting back at the State’s apparent stalling tactics, he declared in open court:
“If there is a will, there is a way. If you want to make a vicious circle out of it, f* off!”**
The raw courtroom video briefly surfaced on the High Court’s official YouTube channel, but was swiftly taken down. When it returned, the expletive had been edited out—though not before the moment made its way into legal and public chatter.
Efforts to get an official word from the Registrar General hit a dead end—calls went unanswered.
As of now, the court has remained silent. But the air in Bilaspur isn’t the only thing waiting to clear.
