In a significant move, the Supreme Court Collegium has endorsed the transfer of Justice Chandra Dhari Singh from the Delhi High Court to his home court, the Allahabad High Court. The decision, passed in a resolution at the Collegium’s meetings on November 28 and 29, signals a return to his roots.
The announcement confirmed that Justice Singh, originally from the Allahabad High Court, will be repatriated to the institution where he began his judicial career. Having been appointed as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court in September 2017, he rose to the position of Permanent Judge by September 2019. His transfer to the Delhi High Court took place in October 2021, marking a significant chapter in his judicial journey.
This latest development aligns with the Collegium’s ongoing process of judicial reshuffling, under the leadership of Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, alongside Justices BR Gavai and Surya Kant.
