In a recent development, the Supreme Court has turned its attention to the pressing need for reforms within the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA). Following directives to the SCBA’s Executive Committee to solicit reform suggestions from its members, the Court, led by Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan, is now contemplating the formation of a dedicated committee. This committee would focus on refining these suggestions, aiming to streamline and implement necessary changes.
Acknowledging the SCBA’s pivotal role as a cornerstone of the nation’s highest judicial body, the Court emphasized the imperativeness of adapting norms, eligibility criteria, membership structures, and fees to contemporary challenges.
