The decision, reached during a full court meeting led by Chief Justice of India BR Gavai on October 29, underscores the Court’s continued acknowledgment of judicial excellence even beyond active tenure.

Those honoured with the designation include:

  • Justice Gilani Madadali Nurmohammad, formerly of the Bombay High Court

  • Justice M Govindaraj, formerly of the Madras High Court

  • Justice Pankaj Bhandari, formerly of the Rajasthan High Court

  • Justice Rakesh Kumar Jain, formerly of the Punjab and Haryana High Court

  • Justice Tashi Rabstan, who last served as Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court

A formal notification issued on October 31 confirmed that the designations took effect from October 29.
