What began as temporary appointments last year has now turned into permanence. The Central government, acting on the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendation from mid-September, has confirmed the elevation of two judges of the Madras High Court.
The move, formalized through a government notification issued on September 24, ensures that Justice N Senthilkumar and Justice G Arul Murugan—both appointed as additional judges in October 2023—now hold their positions on a permanent basis.
With this, the High Court bench gains strengthened continuity, moving beyond the interim nature of their earlier roles.
