Madhya Pradesh High Court Dismisses Former Legal Head’s PIL With Costs

The Madhya Pradesh High Court dismissed a former company legal head’s petition seeking records and action over alleged rehabilitation-payment irregularities, imposing ₹20,000 costs.

Judge / Bench — Chief Justice Alpesh Y. Kogje and Justice Vivek Rusia; order by Justice Vivek Rusia.

In its 18 September 2026 order, the bench rejected the petitioner’s claim of disinterested public interest. It noted his former responsibility for the company’s land-acquisition work and held that an advocate’s loyalty and confidentiality obligations continue after employment ends. Costs must be deposited with the M.P. State Legal Services Authority.

Advocates appearing — Petitioner: Abhay Dubey, Advocate. Respondents: Vivek Sharma, Deputy Advocate General, appearing on behalf of the Advocate General; other counsel not named in the order.
