The recommendation emerged from a meeting convened on April 14, 2026, where the Collegium approved her transition from additional judge to permanent judge. The decision was communicated through an official statement confirming the approval of her appointment.
Justice Deshpande first joined the Bombay High Court as an additional judge in 2023. Her tenure in that capacity was extended for another year in August 2025, allowing her to continue on the Bench pending further consideration.
