The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended that Justice Subhash Upadhyay, currently serving as an additional judge of the Uttarakhand High Court, be appointed as a permanent judge.
The recommendation was approved at the Collegium’s meeting held on September 23.
In its statement, the Supreme Court said the Collegium had approved the proposal to appoint Justice Upadhyay as a permanent judge of the Uttarakhand High Court.
Justice Upadhyay joined the Uttarakhand High Court as an additional judge on May 26, 2025. His elevation to a permanent position will now proceed through the prescribed appointment process.
The Collegium’s recommendation forms the latest step in determining the continuation of his tenure as a High Court judge.
